Prompt – Crew Roles
A good and well-design film crew will affect film successful. It is not easy to find people who able work in a team, having same vision and mission, having the same taste in film and want to struggle in order to make “a beautiful” film. It is not only talking about each person ability in a team but also how every person can work in a good commitment.
Pressure can be a trigger for some problems during the production, such as work inconsistently because do not have adequate time left. Moreover, it drives a high tendency of uncontrolled emotion in certain departments. A good communication, having a bold chemistry of every people in a film crew will be very useful to find out any problems solution.
I just knew that there are three directors in the production department, namely director, first assistant director and second assistant director. The responsibility of first and second assistant directors are quite similar which the first assistant director directly responsible to unit production director during pre-production and production, meanwhile, the second assistant director is responsible to the first assistant director to handle any requirement in location set.
Location manager position is also a new knowledge for me. I never know about this position before, I think that finding a location based on the story is the responsibility of producer who she/he have more power. Likewise, surprisingly, there is no school for a producer, people who have much money can be a producer. It is such not a good condition according to my perspective because making a film involves people who understand about the beautifulness of film and not always to reach high income from a good rating in cinema as priority, even nowadays, in fact, certain production house tends to forget about film aesthetic to get high income.
